LOS ALTOS HILLS, Calif. — In a game that swung back and forth down the stretch, San José City College made the final plays count.
Savion Daniels scored 18 points off the bench and the Jaguars held on late to edge Foothill College 70–68 on Friday night in conference action.
San Jose built a 10-point halftime lead behind efficient shooting and physical play inside, taking a 37–27 advantage into the break. But Foothill answered with a 41-point second half, fueled by 10 made 3-pointers and aggressive perimeter defense that kept the Owls within striking distance.
Daniels provided the difference.
The sophomore forward shot 8 of 12 from the field, adding six rebounds, two steals and a block in 26 energetic minutes. His interior scoring steadied the Jaguars during a tense final stretch.
Jeremiah Butler added 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including a perfect 4 of 6 from the free-throw line, while Ryan Baker chipped in 13 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Dylan Galvan contributed eight points, six rebounds and six assists as San Jose finished with 15 assists on 25 made field goals.
The Jaguars shot 51 percent from the floor and outrebounded Foothill 35–28, with Taj Royster anchoring the glass with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Foothill was led by Christian Reid's 15 points and disruptive defensive effort, as he recorded 10 steals. Gavin Cox added nine points and 10 rebounds, and Miles Bonilla provided eight points off the bench.
The Owls closed within one possession in the final minute, but San Jose's defense forced a late miss to preserve the two-point margin. A technical foul was assessed to San Jose's Ryan Baker during the contest, but the Jaguars maintained composure in crunch time.
Foothill shot just 39 percent from the field despite its perimeter success, and San Jose's interior presence ultimately proved decisive.
With the narrow road win, the Jaguars bounce back and continue to build momentum as conference play intensifies down the stretch.
