SAN JOSE —Ryan Baker knocked down all four of his 3-point attempts and finished with a game-high 24 points as San José City College defeated Feather River 78-64 Saturday in the second round of the 3C2A State Playoffs at San José City College.
The Jaguars (23-6), who led 36-32 at halftime, outscored the Golden Eagles 42-32 in the second half to pull away and advance to the 3C2A Northern California Regional Final.
Baker, who shot 8-for-10 from the field and added four free throws, was nearly unstoppable offensively. Taj Royster added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, providing an imposing presence in the paint all afternoon. Muhammad Singleton contributed six points and a team-high six assists despite battling foul trouble, while Savion Daniels came off the bench to score 11 points.
Jeremiah Butler rounded out a balanced Jaguar effort with eight points and five assists.
San José shot a blistering 64.3 percent from the field and connected on 5 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc, a 55.6 percent clip that made it nearly impossible for Feather River to keep pace.
Zacarrion Jackson led Feather River (22-8) with 11 points, and Nick Fletcher added 13, but the Golden Eagles struggled from 3-point range, hitting just 6 of 26 attempts (23.1 percent).
